HEAP Summer Crisis Program

The HEAP Summer Crisis Program applications opened on July 1st and can provide a one-time benefit to eligible Ohioans with cooling assistance during the summer months. This includes assistance with electric utility bills, central air conditioning repairs, and purchases of air conditioning units or fans.

Eligibility Guidelines:

Household income at or below 175% of the federal poverty guidelines

Have a member of the household who is 60 years of age or older, or who has physician documentation of medical need for a cooling device.

Households that have a disconnection notice, have been shut off, or are trying to establish new electric service may also be eligible for assistance.

If you are enrolled in the PIPP Program, you are eligible for assistance towards central air conditioning repairs, or you may receive an air conditioning unit or fan.
