Donor Privacy Policy

Any contact information supplied to Worthington Resource Pantry (WRP) by donors will be used solely to fulfill their donation and shall not be shared for any reason unless permission is granted by the donor. All requests to remain anonymous shall be honored. WRP does not sell or share donor lists. Donors who supply WRP with their postal address or email address may be contacted periodically for solicitation purposes and/or with information regarding upcoming events.

Procedure

Donors may request to edit information or be permanently removed from WRP’s mailing list by contacting us via email, phone, or postal mail. All requests to be removed from WRP’s mailing list shall be honored. Upon a person’s (or a person’s authorized representative’s) request that WRP discontinue further contact, the person’s name and address will be promptly removed from WRP’s database or modified to insure that no further contact is made with the person.

Donor Security

All credit card transactions are done on SSL certified webpages

When you donate to the Worthington Resource Pantry online, you’ll be directed to a secure page with an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Certification. There you can safely and securely input your credit card information. SSL Certification is the online standard for website identification. It’s a way to prove that a website is legitimate and not a fake made to steal your personal information. You know that you are on an SSL Certified webpage when the web address is preceded by https instead of http. The ’s’ stands for secure. You may also see a green padlock to the right of the address bar.

All credit card transactions are PCI DSS compliant

PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is a set of security standards created by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council. PayPal and Stripe, the companies the Worthington Resource Pantry uses to process credit card payments, are both PCI DSS compliant, and are re-certified yearly by the council.

Internal Security

We do not store credit card information. We use Mobile Cause and Stripe to process your online donations and purchases. These companies are SSL and PCI DSS compliant. All other credit card information is shredded after use.
