We’re Not Giving Up

State and national budget decisions are shifting, and they’ll have a real impact on food pantries and human services agencies -  both across the country and here in Worthington.

Thank you to everyone who sent postcards, emails, and made phone calls to advocate for families who, despite working hard and cutting costs wherever they can, still struggle to make ends meet.

Unfortunately, despite those efforts, our community will feel the impact of cuts to essential human services in our community.  Reduced funding for SNAP, Medicaid, and programs that directly support emergency food access will create real challenges for our neighbors.

But today I have hope because in the face of these challenges our community showed up.  We celebrate the work of our friends, supporters, and neighbors who made sure their voices were heard.

At the Worthington Resource Pantry we are making a commitment to you:

  • We will advocate for our neighbors and for the programs that support them, because both are vital to the long-term success of our community.

We will keep our doors open to everyone in our service area who needs extra help keeping their kitchens stocked, because every person deserves fresh, healthy food.

  • We will do all we can to keep our shelves full of delicious and nutritious options, because every neighbor should be able to choose the foods that work for their family.

We’re not giving up because our neighbors never do.
