Volunteer Spotlight: Martha Mumford

For more than three years, Martha Mumford has been a steady, welcoming presence at the Pantry. Alongside her service dog, Millie, she volunteers with the Wednesday and Friday morning crews, helping date check and sort incoming donations. It is careful, behind-the-scenes work that keeps the Pantry organized and ensures food moves quickly and safely into the hands of our neighbors.

For Martha, the work is meaningful—but the relationships keep her coming back. Week after week, she shows up knowing she will be part of something bigger, surrounded by people who care about their community.

As Martha says, “There is always something we can do, and no task is ever too small.”
