One Thing is Certain: We will be here for our neighbors

Over the past several weeks, the Pantry and the families who shop with us have felt the whiplash of information about the impact of SNAP funding. This impact was felt as we welcomed more neighbors than we ever had before last week. Every day, we saw record numbers of families shop with us. While those served as a reminder of the need; it also showed us how kind and compassionate our community is. We have taken in an incredible amount of food and financial donations. Businesses and individuals have offered matches to make donations stretch farther. We have seen support from those who have been with us from the beginning and many who have made a donation for the first time.

This has enabled us to keep our shelves stocked and our promise to our neighbors that - no one goes hungry.

We are starting to learn more about how SNAP benefits will start to arrive to those households, and we are hopeful that an end to the shutdown will mean paychecks for Federal workers who have gone without pay. Even as we inch closer to a resolution, we know the fallout for families will last for months.

Thanks to this community, the Worthington Resource Pantry will be there when families need us.
