Nearly 32,000 Pounds of Food, Delivered by the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
On the coldest day of the year, when winter felt especially sharp, a full truck pulled up to the Worthington Resource Pantry carrying nearly 32,000 pounds of food.
The delivery, made possible through the generosity of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, included a wide range of staple items our neighbors rely on every day — pasta, rice, beans, peanut butter, oats, milk, pancake mix, and more. These are the foods that help families stretch budgets, put meals on the table, and get through the winter months with a little more stability.
“Nearly 32,000 pounds of food arrived at the Worthington Resource Pantry on the coldest day of the year, helping keep shelves stocked during a time of high need.”
As staff and volunteers worked to unload pallets in freezing temperatures, the significance of the moment wasn’t lost on us. On one of the coldest days of the year, this food represented warmth, nourishment, and care for thousands of neighbors across our community.
We are deeply grateful for partners who show up in such tangible ways. This delivery will support our pantry for weeks to come — and it’s a powerful reminder of what’s possible when communities come together to take care of one another.
