Consider a QCD

If you are age 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) offers a simple way to support the Pantry while also making a tax-efficient gift. A QCD allows you to give directly from your IRA to a qualified nonprofit like the Pantry. Because the gift goes straight from your IRA to the organization, it can be excluded from your taxable income.

For many donors, this is an easy way to make a meaningful impact. If you are age 73 or older and required to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), a QCD can also count toward that requirement. This allows you to support a cause you care about while managing your tax liability at the same time.

Gifts made through a QCD help ensure the Pantry can continue providing healthy food and essential items to neighbors across our community. If you are considering this option, we encourage you to talk with your financial advisor to see if a Qualified Charitable Distribution is right for you. Contact Madison Maves, Director of Development with any questions.
