The Winter Crisis Program helps income eligible Ohioans that are threatened with disconnection, have been disconnected or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel in their tank maintain their utility service. The program runs from November 1, 2016 until March 31, 2017. Winter Crisis is a component of the Home Energy Assistance Program. Ohio households, serviced by a PUCO-regulated utility, must sign up for the Percentage of Income Payment Plan Plus (PIPP Plus) or another payment plan in order to receive emergency benefits. Detailed information on the Winter Crisis Program is available here.

Also, the Office of the Ohio Consumers' Counsel (OCC) is introducing YouTube videos to help Ohioans make wise choices for saving money on their electric and natural gas bills.

These short videos present consumers with helpful information for their purchases of electricity and natural gas. Making energy choices can be a confusing experience for residential utility consumers.
