All credit card transactions are done on SSL certified webpages:
When you donate to the Worthington Resource Pantry online, you’ll be directed to a secure page with an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Certification. There you can safely and securely input your credit card information. SSL Certification is the online standard for website identification. It’s a way to prove that a website is legitimate and not a fake made to steal your personal information. You know that you are on an SSL Certified webpage when the web address is preceded by https instead of http. The ’s’ stands for secure. You may also see a green padlock to the right of the address bar.
All credit card transactions are PCI DSS compliant:
PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is a set of security standards created by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council. Paypal and Stripe, the companies the Worthington Resource Pantry uses to process credit card payments, are both PCI DSS compliant, and are recertified yearly by the council.
We do not store credit card information. We use Paypal and Stripe to process your online donations and purchases. These companies are SSL and PCI DSS compliant. All other credit card information is shredded after use.
